Aqua-Tots CEO Craig Wright Elected to the International Franchise Association Board of Directors

Aqua-Tots Swim School has big news to share. The International Franchise Association (IFA), the world’s oldest and largest organization representing franchising, has elected our CEO, Craig Wright, to its Board of Directors.

As reported by Yahoo Finance, Craig will officially join the board at the 2027 IFA Annual Convention in February and will serve a three-year term.

A Leader Recognized by the Franchising Industry

Craig brings more than 34 years of executive leadership experience to the role, including 25 years in corporate leadership at Leslie’s Pool Supplies and Millard Refrigerated Services. Since joining Aqua-Tots in 2017, he has strengthened our operational systems and franchise support network while guiding the brand’s international expansion.

IFA leaders welcomed the news. IFA President and CEO Matt Haller praised Craig’s firsthand understanding of how franchising builds strong brands and supports local business ownership and jobs. IFA Board Chair Sam Ballas said Craig’s experience will bring a unique perspective to the board after years of significant growth for the association.

Craig said he was honored by the selection and that he’s committed to protecting the opportunities franchising creates and making sure franchise owners have the support they need to succeed.

Why This Matters for Aqua-Tots Franchise Owners

Craig’s seat on the IFA board means someone who understands the day-to-day realities of franchise ownership will help shape the policies and priorities that affect the industry. It also reflects the strength of the Aqua-Tots brand, which continues to earn national recognition, including a spot on Entrepreneur’s Top 10 Children’s Franchises of 2026.

Franchising is a major force in the U.S. economy. According to IFA data cited in the release, more than 832,000 franchise businesses employ nearly 9 million people and generate over $900 billion in economic output across more than 300 industries.

Building the Future of Swim Education

Since 1991, Aqua-Tots has been dedicated to year-round, indoor swim instruction and drowning prevention education for children of all abilities, from four months to 12 years old. Today we have more than 185 locations across 14 countries, with 90 more in development. Craig’s leadership has been central to that growth, and his new role at the IFA will help ensure our franchise owners have a voice in the broader industry.
